David Lee Watson , born July 5, 1953 in Clarksville Virginia to the parentage of the late Daniel "Moot" Watson and Lucille Smith-Watson. After 64 years of dedication to his family and friends the Lord gently whispered his name and gave his soul rest on January 17, 2018.

David joined The Only Way Church of Christ where he taught himself how to play the bass and lead guitar, sung in the youth choir and was a church transporter. David committed his life to Christ, was baptized and dedicated his soul to our Heavenly Father.

He was educated in the Granville County School System where he found his passion for auto mechanics and fell in love with art of building, maintaining and racing hot rods. His passion was passed down to his son and nephews who also received more than their share of speeding tickets and blown head gaskets.

Later he went on to work for the State of North Carolina Department of Transportation where he gained skills to become a professional truck driver and later promoted to Transport Management. He worked there for fifteen years until his health began to decline.

On April 8, 1973 David was joined in Holy Matrimony to Irene Smith and to this union two children were born Anthony and Taushia.

David leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Anthony Maurice Watson (Khammoui); one daughter, Tausiha Capri Watson Hays (Torre); two sisters; Roxie Watkins (Elder Beverly Watkins) and Annie Watson-Harris (Earlie); one brother, Sam Watson (Dora); two grandsons, Anthony Jr. and Tijuaun; one granddaughter, Tangania and a host of dedicated nieces and nephews that he looked upon as his own.
