Mr. Edward Donnell Yancey born in Granville County to the parentage of Alexander and Hattie Smith Yancey on December 9, 1954. On April 25, he was called home.  Ed, as he was known by his family and friends, was educated in the Granville County Schools . At an early age he joined Huntsville Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by four daughters, Tynikia Yancey of Knightdale, North Carolina, Shaneese Yancey, Shyneese Yancey and Shyquera Yancey all of Henderson, North Carolina; two brothers, William Yancey (Wanda) of New Jersey and Valentino Yancey of Oxford, North Carolina; four sisters, Minnie Parker (Stanley) of Oxford, North Carolina, Charlotte Mann (Willie) of Bunn, North Carolina, Ida Taylor (Joseph) of New York and Ola Watts of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
