Hallie Beatrice Thornton Allen was born May 26, 1938 in Rougemont, North Carolina to the parentage of the late Nathaniel Thornton and Beulah Thorpe Thornton. A 1956 graduate of Joe Toler. School. She was a member of New Hope Granville Missionary Baptist Church where she attended faithfully until her health declined. She was employed with Greystone Park Psychiatic Hospital for twenty-five years. Hallie enjoyed playing Bingo, knitting and had a passion for cooking for her brothers. Hallie married Graham Ellis Allen and to that union they had two daughters, Anice  Denise Allen Hicken-Bottom and Beverley Faye Allen-Floyd. In addition to her daughters she is survived by two son-in-laws, Sammy Hicken-Bottom, Jr and Andre Floyd; two grandchildren, Tia Andrea' Floyd and Keith Tyrone Allen: two great grandchild, Amir and Jordan; three sisters, Esther Terry, Estelle Puryear (David) and Geneva Thornton Harris all of Oxford; three brothers, John Thornton, Lue Perry (Elizabeth) both of Henderson and William Thornton (Shelia) of Oxford; three aunts, Hallie Pettiford, Ruby Thornton and Gracie Thornton. A special nephew, Lambert Kent Allen.
