Mr. Jessie Ray Rose was born on October 23, 1948 in Oxford, North Carolina to the late Bessy Taylor Rose and Lonnie Rose, Sr.

He was educated in the Granville County Schools and worked for many years for the Bandag Corporation.

He was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey Rose.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Bernice Blalock Rose of Oxford, North Carolina; one daughter, Sheree Hicks (Louis) of Henderson, North Carolina; one son, Roderick Rose (Shauna) of Okinawa, Japan; one brother, Willie Rose (Marylene) of Oxford, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Roderick Jr., Shaunay, Jahmad, Shimisha, Lorell and Joshua; two sisters-in-law, Betty Rose and Annie Rose and a host of other relatives and friends.
