John Brooks WIlliams, "Buster", as he was known, was born on June 19, 1946 in Vance County to the late Cornelia Vincent and Zebedee Williams.

"Buster" is survived by three brothers, James Williams of Butner, North Carolina, Bobby Ray Williams and Frank Williams (Freeler) both of Oxford, North Carolina; three sisters, Helen Hardison (Sheldren) of Durham, North Carolina , Martha Rogers and Ethel WIlliams both of Oxford, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Khalil Blallock, Sr., and Tatyana Barksdale; one great grandchild, Khalil Blallock, Jr; a devoted niece Barbara Hunter of Oxford, North Carolina: and a  host of other nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. 

He is preceded in death by his daughter Kim Amirah Karim.
