Nicole Hunter

Ms. Nicole Hunter, 48  born on October 23, 1969 in Durham, NC, to Betty Mae Hunter Lyons and the late Jessie Nelson.  She quietly departed this life on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Duke Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC.

Nicole attended Granville County Schools and was formerly the manager of Food and Nutrition at the Granville County Senior Center in Oxford, NC. Ms. Hunter was an entrepreneur and remodeled the orange building on Granville Street to start her own retail business called CACI Thrift Store. Her influence in the community will remain in the lives of all who knew her. Her generous spirit and personality was loved by many.

Nicole was a devoted Christian and enjoyed visiting Mt. Zion United Holy Church and Faith Temple Deliverance Baptist Church.

Her beautiful life will be forever cherished by the life of her only child Lashanda Denise Hunter and her 9 year old cat Aerosmith that she loved dearly.

Her memory will be kept alive by her mother, Betty Mae Lyons and her step father Chuck Ragland , her sister, Pamela Hunter of Durham NC, two brothers, James “Redd” Hunter and Matthew “Oogie” Lyons of Durham, NC and Howard “HB” Jordan (Taneisha) of Oxford NC, two aunts, Tammy Bobbitt of Butner NC and Bregetta Alston (Harvey) of Oxford, NC and one uncle, Hubert Matthew Hunt of Durham NC.

She was a devoted aunt to a host of nieces and nephews and other loving relatives and caring friends. She had several special friends Peggy, Tina, Sandra, Lorraine, Teresa , Danielle ,Ms. Willie Mae Jennings and Severia Parks. She loved her god –daughter Ebony very much.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Hurtie Mae Hunter Satterfield, an aunt Wanda Nelson and two uncles, James “Sonny Boy” Hunter and James Bobbitt.
