Olivia Parker Jones

Mrs. Olivia Parker Jones, 82, of 4693 Belltown Road, passed on September 13, 2019 at Treyburn Rehabilitation Center in Durham. She is the daughter of the late Floy Mitchner and Barry Parker.

She joined Synama Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. Mrs. Jones attended the Granville County Schools and was a graduate of Vance Granville Community College. Her education led her to teach in the School Systems of Pennsylvania and Granville County.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1:00PM at Synama Grove Missionary Baptist Church by the Minister Constance Jenkins Tabron with Reverend Randolph Moten assisting. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery in Wilton.

She is survived by two daughters, Marlene Jones and Deborah Jones Daniel both of Oxford, North Carolina; 2 step-daughters, Willie Mae Jones of New York and Brenda Jones of Franklinton, North Carolina; four sisters, Annie Kingsberry of New York, Mary Jenkins and Gertrude Parker both of Wilton, North Carolina and Earline Parker Hunt of Newport News, Virginia; five brothers, Sterling Parker of Wilton, North Carolina, Alton Parker of Franklinton, North Carolina, Gaddius Parker of Creedmoor, North Carolina, Lindsey Dowell Parker of Boston, Massachusetts and James Young of Oxford, North Carolina: a sister-in-law Barbara Jones of Franklinton, North Carolina; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded by her husband Willie Jones, Jr., a son, Jeffrey J. Jones and a granddaughter, Brianica Jones.

Mrs. Jones will lie in state Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from 12Noon until 6PM at the funeral home. The family will be receiving visitors at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Larry and Deborah Daniels at 5045 Antioch Road.
