Thaddies Winston

Mr. Thaddies Winston, Jr. was born April 4, 1958 in Granville County to the parentage of Thaddies and Rosa Lee Thorpe Winston, Sr. He departed peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at his home.

He attended Granville County Schools, graduating from J.F. Webb Senior High School with the Class of 1976. #20 on the basketball court was “Thadd”, a true Webb Legend. He furthered his education at Lafayette College in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Thaddies held a special place in his heart for Word is Life Church.

“Thadd” and “June” were the names that he was known by so many. Thaddies loved his children and bragged how smart his daughter was and that his son was the best auto body person he knew of. He loved people and loved to help in so many ways people didn’t even know. He was a true friend to his friends and a true die heart Carolina Tarheel fan to his heart.

Thaddies has so many beautiful memories to be remembered by one daughter Monica Cates Foster (Benjamin) of Raleigh, North Carolina: two sons, Thaddies LaQuinta Winston (Crystal) of Cameron, North Carolina and Torrail Devon Winston (Mai) of South Carolina; 9 grandchildren; two brothers, Alexander Winston and Lynell Winston both of Oxford, North Carolina; three sisters, Odessa Gladness, Vergie W. Anderson of Maryland, and Dianne Winston of Oxford, North Carolina; one aunt, Ruth Wilkinson and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
